Tasha Tudor
Welcome to Cellar Door Books, "The World of Tasha Tudor." The illustrator Tasha Tudor (1915-2008) painted thousands of quintessentially New England scenes. Peruse our web site to
view
some of them by clicking on any of the buttons at the top of this page. You will see pictures and descriptions of our Art, Books, Cards, Media and Other manifestations of Tudor’s art.
We are proud to offer The Golden Key in a DVD format ($29.95). In this 1955 film, Tudor's friend Nell Dorr embodies the old poem "The Golden Key" at the McCready/Tudor family home in
Webster, NH. We view the family in its Ginger and Pickles Store, around a famous doll house, and playing out the fantastic "Wedding in the Land of Dolls" which was later reported in Life
magazine.
Tasha Tudor, although a shy person, recognized the necessity of publicity to sell her books and art. Here she is photographed at chores on her Marlboro, Vermont, farm late in life.
