A lovely and detailed watercolor published on page [15], CARRIE'S GIFT by Efner Tudor Holmes. In a tan mat under a brown mat. No signature is evident. A young girl carrying a covered basket toward a rather forlorn farm house. This is a genuinely beautiful painting in the Victorian pastoral aesthetic. The published version has atrocious muted colors with none of the immediacy of the original. The matting masks quite a bit of the bottom including the girls feet.
