Tasha Tudor. New York: Rand McNally, 1980. 11" x 25 1/2"
Lacks the original mailing envelope and the printed backing card. This is Tasha Tudor's homage to her Welsh ancestry. It has lots of special notes in it, not unlike those puzzle quizzes we played in My Weekly Reader as children. The image is a bustling Welsh village scene from perhaps the early 19th century with Tudor's very busy creatures. Two featured buildings are the Festiniog Farm Inn (Welsh) and Haas's Bakery, a German touch on the Main Street. The latter was a special nod to Tudor's editor at Rand McNally Dorothy Haas, and a poke in the ribs of Haas's superiors who did not allow personal mention of employees. And way up high on one building is a sign announcing N & J HOLMES CONSTRUCTION. These would be the same two grandsons featured in THE CHRISTMAS CAT, Nate and Jason Holmes. Lacks original mailing envelope and printed cardboard backing.F / M. Item #27713
