Bethany Tudor. 10 1/16" x 9 1/16" wood frame.
The original watercolor painting (1941) used on page of her book Dorcas Porkus. The scene is a Victorian parlor with three ladies at tea before a large mantle. Dorcas, the pig, races through the open door and across the room. The ladies wear a brown, a purple and a green dress, respectively.
We have not examined the art out of its matting and frame. The exposed image measures 4 1/8" x 3 5/8". It is behind a double mat, blue placed atop tan boards which pick up colors on one dress and the wall paper in the painting. The art is in a late 20th century wood frame, brown with a simple convex form measuring 10 1/16" x 9 1/16". A typed note on the back incorrectly attributes the published image to page 28 of the book. This image does appear on page of the later Walck reprint edition, 1962.
