Watercolor illustration published on page 38, MOTHER GOOSE. In Tudor's French mat, a light blue wash frame and gilt line border. Figure of a crowned Arthur running with a sack of barley meal over his shoulder, before a windmill and tree in the moonlight. The mat masks the image showing less detail at the top than is evident in the published book. Smudges showing in the image of the mat are on the mat and will require professional cleaning. This ethereal watercolor is painted on top half of Bristol board measuring 6 7/8" x 6 1/2". Penciled 38 on the bottom front. Various printing notes on the back: Oxford, Mother Go, B10256(E) 3 x 6 1/8, 34, p36, Pg. 38, 20.00. There is a small ding at the bottom of the opening in the mat.F / NA. Item #22411
