1 1/2" round deep.
A more intersting than usual tea ball with repousse diamond and scroll pattern on the top and bottom of the ball. The ball seapartes at the equator and a silver chain attached at the bottom, rises through a small aperature in the top half, then 4 1/4" to a ring at the top of the chain to manipulate thje whole. The two halves were originally hinged, with a clasp opposite to latch the ball shut. Both the hinge wire and the clasp are missing, but the halves fit tightly enough together, that the ball can still be used for its intended purpose. The lip edge of the bottom half is inscribed STERLING with another character resembling a 3.VG / NA. Item #29599
